While suppuration up, I was non exposed to many diverse groups. I grew up in a small town where everybody knew everybody. The community was the kindred people I went to church and school with. I was contact by the same type of people for the first 18 years of my life. My parents were non the type of people to travel and doing divergent things. We by and large stayed at home. After I graduated from college, I turn tail back to my home town and thing s were liquid the same. There has non been any type of diversity and the people are still the same. I first experienced diversity when I was a starting motor at Winthrop University. It was new to me and little overwhelming. I guess that was a result of my lack of expo veritable to diversity growing up.

If I was exposed to the unalike types of people and things when I was younger, it would not begin shocked me as much. It would have prepared me for working with different groups of people while I was in college. My college make sure that the students were exposed to many different cultures, backgrounds and beliefs by requiring students to serve! up 24 cultural events before graduation. It was a really not bad(p) experience for me and that was really my first taste of diversity. I was never comfortable working with groups of people who come from different backgrounds with different beliefs. The lack of education and experiences from my past was the main reason for that.
