Martin Luther King Jr born January 15, 1929-1968 in Atlanta, Georgia led the fond rights movement in the United States. He was murdered by a single bullet as he stood on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, just outside his room. His death led to smasher riots across America that cost dozens of travels, destroyed thousands of properties and caused indemnity worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Martin local church was very much a part of his life as both his father and grandfather had been Baptist preachers. They themselves were involved in the gracious rights movement. By the standards of the time, Martin came from a slightly comfortable background and after graduating from college in 1948 he was non sure about which profession to join. He considered a life story in medicine and law but rejected both and joined the Baptist Church. He studied at the Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania. It was while studying here, that Martin learned about the non-viol ent methods used by Gandhi against the British in India. Martin chose to follow Gandhis steps and looked up to him in ways he stood up and got his rights. He became earn over that such methods would be of great value to the civil rights movement. Martin was a good role model and he cared for his stack by telling them what right and whats wrong and how you should live to your rights.
